New Years Eve!

I hope everyone is getting ready for an awesome end to the the decade and as I saw in a text:
There is only a few hours left in 2009 and I refuse to let the year end without I love you and thanks for being in my life.

Incorporating sparkle into your New years!

A whole new decade is two days away and I am excited. Really excited. One of the things that I've loved this past year has been sparkle, full on or just a bit. Everyone loves polyvore so I thought, why not demonstrate how sparkle can serve you this New Years.
To start, this is easy to pull off since it doesn't use too much sparkle. I am a firm believer of piling on trends the last day of the year and this uses menswear and shorts for nights. If you aren't ready to brave the cold in shorts though, you could easily substitute them for skinny jeans. I wouldn't recommend trying this with wide leg trousers because you don't want to lose the sparkle on the shoe.
This is only for people with attitude. Wearing full on sparkle will have you competing with the ball at Times Square.

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas Eve! I received most of my presents yesterday because the part of my family that celebrates Hanukkah celebrates it when it is convenient (late January). I wont list my gifts for you but I will recommend two things to buy yourself for Christmas. One, Covergirl outlast Lip stain. It's felt marker tip makes it fun to put on and despite it's never-fade quality it doesn't dry out my lips at all: The perfect stain. I paired it with some gloss this morning and I have a perfect Pink/Red pout. Second, L'oreal Elnett Satin hairspray. It is recommended by all hairstylists and makes your hair stay put without any crunchiness. I guess that's it so

Yay!!

I love the holidays and I don't know anyone who hates the holidays. Even people who don't love parties have some aspect of the holidays even if it's just the no school part. Tons of awesome giveaways are starting now and generally, everyone feels nicer than normal. That could just be my perception as an optimist. Happy holidays! Bye

December 16, 2009

yay!

You know that feeling after hours in four inch heels? Solved with CitySlips! Basically, they're flats that conveniently fit into all bags but you're tiniest clutch. I heard about them on several blogs and want to try them out even if they won't give me enough support.
Winona of Daddy Likey is having the most fabulous give away and I just might spontaneously combust while waiting to see if I've won any of the prizes!
I have a major in-class history essay tomorrow and the unsatisfactory results on my last essay make so nervous! Sigh, Life (said while shaking fist and looking out the window).
Bye! mwah

December 11, 2009

Tons of holiday centric stuff.

I have many topics running and screaming in my mind that I haven't had time to blog about this week. Like gift buying, makeup tutorials and the lovely holiday clothes being thrown to us from stores. Not all will be addressed at once because I'm sure your head would explode.
First, the awesome stuff that caught my eye.

From Etsy:
  • From Dear Goldens shop, a beautiful gold full skirt. There are beyond a hundred occasions I would like to wear this to, mainly, I love it because of it's color and how i imagine it would look while I spin.
  • Winona raved about her on Daddy Likey so I decided to check Bella Fiore out. I love all of her designs and though I almost gave up on headbands she got me into them again.
  • EveryLittleCounts shop is filled with tees that look unbelievably comfortable. Plus, everything is printed in Brooklyn, how awesome is that?!
From everywhere else:
  • Forever21's new Twist collection? Grest, with interesting tees, and great colors most of the peices are to die for.
  • Alexander Wang's '08 resort collection. Sure, That was way in the past but do you remember the fabrics and tops? I just want to put on a one of the cream silk dresses and pretend to be sophisticated. (Yes, I'm one of those people who sits up a bit straighter after hearing the word sophisticated).
  • As style caster puts it; "Every time we begin to forget that Rodarte's collection for Target is just a month away, or our mind strays to the exciting new collaborations like Jean Paul Gaultier for Target or Sonia Rykiel for H&M, more images are released and we fall in love all over again." Once you see some of the clothes you'll know what they mean.
  • I used to love shell bracelets. After I saw my friend wearing one over her sleeve I thought I'd share because even though I'm not into them doesn't mean they don't deserve a little love. Cuff version:
More traditional:

Thats all for now folks!

December 1, 2009

Go December!

Only 24 days till Christmas and 31 till 2010! I am crazy excited and can't wait for the holidays but if today was a preview of the weather for the next few months I'm definitely in need of warmer clothes.
Since it's December, my favorite issues of magazines are now out! Who can say they don't enjoy flipping through pages of party makeup and clothes and finding treasures in gift lists with cool names? I am dying over the makeup! I love party makeup but I have to tone down my makeup for school. Take some examples from People stylewatch; I'd love to try this seasons glossy pink lips with metallic gray shadow. Or the trend of plum lids, Eyeliner already bought. All I have to do is perfect my cat eye, straighten my hair and watch some of the looks youtube beauty stars are using and I'll be set for at least a month and a half of partying. If I had to guess which products will be used up by January I'd have to say:
  • My Sephora lip gloss in Bronzed Goddess
  • Wet n' wild mega chrome eyeliner pencil in 153 Amethyst
  • Burt's Bees lip shimmer in champagne. Perfect layered over a matte red for a high watt shine.
  • Sephora glitter eyeliner in Opal
  • Le Metier Beaute true color eyeshadow in Platinum
  • Maybelline The colossal volum'express mascara
  • Styli-style glitter lid liner in black
  • N.Y.C. Liquid liner in jet black
As you can see I'm more about the eyes. I don't know why this is other then cooler colors and I have a hard time finding good colors for my coloring. I don't know if I'll be buying much makeup this season though, I can only think of three things off the top of my head I might need. Those are copper eyeshadow, more mascara and faux lashes. Well Goodbye mon amours!
P.s. All beauty trends and makeup are good for the holidays and on trend.

Hair

Envy
I have total (almost) all consuming envy of this girls hair. I love the color purple and she looks so good with her hair that color. She's often featured on DropSnap (which I love for all the funky Japanese street fashion pics). My mom's not totally into that so I'll have to wait till summer for camp. The only prob;em is that my Curly dark brown hair takes a lot of bleach for colors to show. I had blue without bleach and it was almost unnoticeable.

My favorite color is blue but I doubted it's wearability as a hair color until I saw Mademoiselle Yulia:
She rocks it beyond belief and inspires tons of envy.
Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving and happy weekend!

Thanks

Thanks for you all
thanks for chocolate
thanks for family
thanks for hugs
thanks for dogs and
thanks for the internet.

Yum

Watching The latest episode of The Vampire Diaries for the fourth time while waiting for my grandma to finish making her tuna and egg salad (Amazing) so I can start baking my chocolate cake with raspberry sauce.

November 22, 2009

Ready for some Thanksgiving goodness? Sure, it's a little early but this week is threatening to be very exciting. My grandparents are flying in from Florida and an all school chapel for Thanksgiving is Thursday in which I am singing in with the chorus group! That means minimal classes and homework this week (Thursday and Friday off). I'm also expected to re-memorize a song to sing for my family (Nothing from A Chorus Line) Anyway, Bye!

Wish bracelets

When I first saw Brazilets I was intrigued. There are several types but I like these the best. The story is that you tie one around your wrist and tie three knots, with one wish per knot. I love stuff like that. Wishing on shooting stars, when the clock says 2:22 and other stuff like that. So I got a spare ribbon and tied three knots an dam waiting for it to fall off. Try Brazilets out!
Bye!

I'm a mess

Got back from the orthodentist an hour ago and have been trying to be as unproductive as possible (No school tomorrow). I'm a true mess right now and who wants to talk about pretty people and pretty clothes when they look meh more than me. To recap ME at the moment; I cut a toenail too far down, bruised my knee, chipped my nails more than I have in ages and my hair is completely EH. Enough about me. Anybody seen Leighton Meester's new music video? It's mediocre in my opinion. Not great but I do love the combination of her and Robin Thicke.
I love this picture of Chloe Sevigny. I got it from Go Fug Yourself, the blog tracking celeb style and as Jessica puts it, "The Sev looks like she's starring in a movie in which she's pluckily investigating a murder and is being chased through a library by the dude we're all supposed to think is the murderer, but who is secretly an undercover cop/Chloe's soulmate. Who is only chasing her because he wants to tell her SHE TOTALLY FORGOT TO BUTTON HER SHIRT."
Though Its unbuttoned and certainly old lady-ish I like it. The skirt detailing is awesome and the color scheme is one I wish I could wear everyday (Pink and Purple without looking like a 6 year old girl's pink themed birthday party).
She often looks wacky but this makes me love her.
Bye lovies!!!
P.S. Check out the new Instyle! J'adore!

November 15, 2009

This is a quickie

Started a new show called White Collar because while I was watching Monk I saw a commercial and it looked like my type of show (plus the main character is really cute). It's really good and I recommend it.
I was trying to get ready quickly this morning (afternoon) and I banged my eyebrow into the edge of a door. I knew getting dressed slowly was a good idea and now that I bruised myself I'm going to get dressed even slower. I might have to get up earlier but who cares when my safety is at stake;) I just hope it doesn't swell.
Bye lovelies! (P.S. watch Glee!)

November 10, 2009

Today...sorta

This is from yesterday. I wrote most of this yesterday but i figured out how much homework I had, anyway.
I was sore! And by sore I mean sore on my quads, inside of my elbows and my lower legs. Ugh..basketball tryouts.
I went to the Teen nick offices and Sephora. During the first we (my brother and I) became the teen advisory council. They wanted someone real to talk to and who's more real then me! At Sephora I got my moms birthday lip gloss and and a crazy clear-ish, sparkly eyeliner I love! I love Sephora with all my heart.
On Luinae's blog More Magic Always she mentioned the Myers Briggs personality test. It sounded very interesting so I went and took it. My outcome was ESFP. I didn't find what it stood for but I did find my description which was pretty accurate and very flattering;) In the sites words:

Performers have the special ability, even among the Artisans, to delight those around them with their warmth, their good humor, and with their often extraordinary skills in music, comedy, and drama. Whether on the job, with friends, or with their families, Performers are exciting and full of fun, and their great social interest lies in stimulating those around them to take a break from work and worry, to lighten up and enjoy life.

Performers are plentiful, something over ten percent of the population, and this is fortunate, because they bring pleasure to so many of us. Performers are the people for whom it can truly be said "all the world's a stage." Born entertainers, they love the excitement of playing to an audience, and will quickly become the center of attention wherever they are. Performers aren't comfortable being alone, and seek the company of others whenever possible-which they usually find, for they make . wonderful playmates. Performers are smooth, talkative, and witty; they always seem to know the latest jokes and stories, and are quick with wisecracks and wordplay-nothing is so serious or sacred that it can't be made fun of. Performers also like to live in the fast lane, and seem up on the latest fashions of dress, food, drink, and music. Lively and uninhibited, Performers are the life of the party, always trying to create in those around them a mood of eat, drink, and be merry.

I am certainly comfortable alone but othewise it is pretty accurate. you can choose yourself if you think it is accurate but you should definitely take the test. Goodbye, Mwah!

November 8, 2009

If you look back at my old posts and realize I can read and write don't freak out. i was just looking at my old posts and making sure they're legible. Bye

Luck

Remember when I said I wanted a lifetime membership to Dylan's candy bar? No, I didn't get it, but I got a lovely something else last night. A gift card to it! I don't know how much is on it because I've had trouble checking the balance but I'm going to check when I go to buy something. Lucky me! It pays to know dances like the cupid shuffle;)
Not much else has gone on except me trying to get rid of all my candy without eating it all myself. I mean, there's only so much one person can have.
Goodbye!

November 7, 2009

Tons

Two important things have happened lately. I got a manicure and I figured out how wonderful my new Carols Daughter products are. Not much to say about the manicure except I haven't ruined it yet! I recently got a couple of products and they're wonderful. The shampoo and conditioner are super moisturizing, the milk and mousse perfect for keeping my curls springy. Since I started using them I've gotten tons of complements on how it feels, smells, and looks. I knew about the brand but had never used it enough to see the wonderful results!
In other news I started watching Mad Men. It had been on my netflix but I couldn't wait so I started it last night. It's great and I am dying to watch more when I have less to do. I also saw the latest episode of The Vampire Diaries last night and it was incredible. I can't wait for the next one.
While I'm putting off my homework I thought I'd show some things on my Gift list.
I'll pick one from each section.
  • The legally blonde soundtrack, I'm completely obsessed.
  • The Ultimate Blockbuster from Sephora. So much makeup!
  • Delia's Tees like this:

and

  • Cute rings from etsy like this (Peaches4me's shop):

  • A subscription to Elle
As you can see I desire a lot and this list helps me sort out what I really want (as opposed to a lifetime membership with Dylan's Candy Bar).
Au revoir, the guilt of not doing my homework is setting in.

November 4, 2009

Today I felt like an idiot

It was fifty degrees out and I paid no attention to any past experiences and went out in a mini and two small sweaters. It's ridiculous that I have no sense of how I'll feel when the weather is between sixty and forty. I just can't imagine how cold it will feel until I feel it.
I know today's not one of the days I promised to post but I'm making up for the days I missed.
Since It's troubled me for a while I thought I tackle all the mystery about dress codes for parties.
For casual, you can probably wear jeans but make sure you know what type of person is hosting the party. Others idea of casual could differ with yours. Always keep one peice special though. A top like this could easily be dressed up or down. A pencil skirt or jeans are easy choices.
Festive, club and cocktail wear are more dressed up and you can be very fun and outgoing with what you wear (unless of course the host is very conservative). Mini's are also appropriate. I would go with a dress but you could easily wear a skirt. If the event is specified as cocktail I would go with something a bit longer like this:
This one looks better on and the seaming is beautiful.
For black tie optional go for longer dresses in special fabrics and not tons of skin. this one comes in tons of colors and the cut is perfect.
Black tie should be something very special.

If you wear vintage you can be sure no one else will be wearing what you are. You can be unique and very pretty in such a dress and if you know where to look they can be cheaper than current dresses. This one is so special I feel lucky just looking at it.

Daylight savings!

November took me by surprise this year. I spent a lovely Halloween with my friends as a Roman goddess and ate lots of candy and then slept an extra hour. I loved that hour but I forgot how dark it gets now. I notice how much shorter the day is than it was before November.
I came out yesterday and noticed how crisp it was. It must be one of my favorite things about November. The crispness makes me feel stronger and more awake and like the whole world is clearer (the last could be from my lack of good vision and the rain in the air throughout October). Plus in November, you start layering! which is awesome and lets me wear more sweaters (sweaters are definitely my weakness. No sweater is thrown out until the amount of holes is too great to be fixed).
Another reason I love November is that's when I deem it appropriate to go down to Rockefeller center to ice skate and eat at La Maison du Chocolat. I put on a short skirt and tights and show off the lessons I took. I actually think skates look really cool. Tomorrow is my first trip this year and I'm practically dying to go.
Have a fun time finishing your Halloween candy and good night!

Halloween!

I must be one of the million people dying to put my costume on and get candy for nothing. I know there are many adults who don't like the holiday but that's just because they don't get as much candy. There are so many different things you could be it's incredible I ever narrow my costume down to one thing. Actually, I don't, I choose one and than another, and keep going until I find one I can do that's cheap.
Happy almost Halloween folks and have a great night.

October 27, 2009

I might not be able to post that much later in the week because I have several essays and tests and a Bar Mitzvah. Anyway, I hope everyone's looking forward to Halloween! Bye!

October 26, 2009

Halloween!

5 tips for making Halloween week awesome.
My Halloween info:
  • Take a friend when shopping for a costume or even funner, bring your friend over and make something out of things you already have.
  • Have fun with your costume but don't wear something too constricting or complicated; you want to be able to run around.
  • No what candies you love, that way if you don't get any candy you like you can buy some for yourself:)
  • Decorate! Carve a pumpkin! Wrap scarves around masks! Put spiders around the floor! Change to black bulbs!
  • Bake! Make something with chocolate and candy worms! You won't regret it.

October 24, 2009

I can't beleive I'm saying this

Since camp I've been slightly obsessed with the idea of miniature flying bears. Hear me out; 2 inches tall, 2 1/2-3 inches round, butterfly wings, only eating flowers, they sleep in fields under leaves, they fly very fast. Imagine one nuzzling up to your cheek, adorable right! If I could have three wishes one would be for miniature flying bears (probably). Since I'm so obsessed my brother, D, photo-shopped one for me and it came out great! Please, if any of you readers out there are genetic scientists and could find a way to make mini flying bears with out harming any animals I would probably love you forever.
Last December I found a pair of shoes I desperately wanted but I knew my mom wouldn't go for them so I spilled the money without telling her. For nine months they stayed in my friends closet only coming out for her B-day. Friday I decided to tell her and the feeling was great! (Especially since she didn't freak) She even let me wear them Saturday night (Bar Mitzvah). Though my feet are currently mad at me and I can't feel my toes I'm glad I wore them.
Au revoir! <3

October 23, 2009

Sorry

Thank God It's Friday!
I mean it! I've had such a busy week, baking, and taking tests and prepping for Halloween, and watching all my shows!
For Halloween I've decided to be an Egyptian/Roman/Greek! The makeup is beyond fun and I can't wait to buy a dress!
Along with all of my shows I've started 2 new ones! Gossip girl and The Vampire Diaries! They're both incredible and I totally recommend netflixing/watching them!
For a new club chic Bar mitzvah I'm thinking of purchasing another dress! Forever 21 Has some great ones like this:

More tomorrow, Swear!

October 15, 2009

Sorry, I had this written up but couldn't post it last night (giant science project).

As promised......Boots and headbands! Sorry if you
didn't realize the end of my last post wasn't hint enough.
I'm a huge fan of headbands and this jeweled one makes me tingle with excitement.(Forever21, $4.80)
These leather Steve Madden boots are gorgeous(Steve Madden, $109). The buttery leather comes in Black and Cognac and the low heels is perfect for anything from a sweater dress to jeans and a sweatshirt(What I'm wearing at the moment!).
This headband has two of my favorite things for accessories. Zippers and bows, Something about the tough, girly quality of this made me dizzy with joy.
I love these boots. The booties are suede which is lovely and the uneven top is striking.

October 13, 2009

Watch this!

I bought a watch two days ago and am loving it. I have lost many a watch by losing them or winding it backwards (never do it) It's blue and beautiful! I've always loved watches and blue (of any kind) is my favorite color. Looking for a watch?
Here are some beauties:

Lulus gold heart ring($22) is beautiful and the last time I had a ring watch I was obsessed.

This lovely two-tone Watch, from Pinkmascara.com by Freelook($270) is a nice interesting watch.

I love this simple watch from Modcloth($23.99). The large numbers and elastic band make it easy to wear everyday with everything.

Also from modcloth ($23.99), This pattern is delicious. "Nuff said.
Have I spanned most price ranges and tastes? Leave a comment if I haven't.
Headbands and boot also caught my eye I'll give a few links Thursday.
Bye!

October 12, 2009

I'm going to start a new blogging schedule to encourage I blog more. Seriously, I'm sorry. Just so you know it's going to be Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Remember, I'm human, I might make mistakes in the beginning but I'll try my hardest not to.
The most exciting thing happened today. I'm reading through blog and rewatching Glee while I come upon this! Isn't it lovely! Thanks sooo mush to Sarah Von! I definitely recommend buying a headband for yourself.
More tomorrow

October 2, 2009

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I had a busy week. My first soccer game (in which I hurt my ankle), my first test, along with the usual (HW).
Anyways, next week there will be a sudden lack of posting due to a three day school trip to upstate New York! It's sounds super exciting despite the lack of all electronics and warmth;) Ant tips for what I should pack so I don't break an arm?

September 27, 2009

Lots of different stuff

I was reading Sal's blog Already Pretty and I saw Operation Beautiful. Check out the mission. The posts are lovely and I might start soon!!!!!!
I'm wearing a Striped shirt I've admired of my moms at the moment and I'm super happy! I was just given it! I love getting things I've admired forever. I love stripes and wish I could wear them every day!
Did you see the weather today! It was rainy and Slightly windy and over all Fall-y! Sooo refreshing! I love Fall and Am dying to dress up for Halloween. I'm going as a barbie this year, Christie! Note All the pink! I love that color but blues my favorite color.
Did my nails a few hours ago and only made a few mistakes. Go purple! I like all my colors (38!) but I'm itching to buy a new color. I was about to buy it A week ago but saw Elle. That color is grey. I have a nice shiny silver but I want a slate, matte grey!
Did everyone see Snl last night! I'm a huge fan of the show and was super psyched! Megan fox was okay but I think the other people shined a bit more. I love her in Transformers though.
I'm so excited for all the shows I'm watching! Let me tell you my fave five shows.
Glee-I love musicals and this show is so well cast with amazing plot twists!
Eastwick-So funny and thrilling
Community-I love Joel Mchale and the dialogue is hilarious.
House-His method is awesome and all the other people (Olivia Wilde, Jenifer Morrison) are now faves!
Lie to Me-Learning about body language(and more!) was masked by the bickering of Lightman
(Glee is Wednesday, Community and Eastwick are Thursday, House and Lie To me are Mondays)
Happy Yom Kippur! Bye!

September 22, 2009

Ahhh, second week

Today was just a normal day with one exception. I couldn't stop thinking about the new shoes that arrived yesterday night. They're black , two inch, pointy toed, with a gold buckle and they're perfect! I wanted a new pair of heels for Winter parties so my mom ebayed away and found me those. I wasn't sure if I liked them when I first saw them but by the time I had looked at them in the mirror I never wanted to take them off. After school today I put them on and am convinced I will be wearing them whenever I can. they lovely! School was normal, almost boring in it's similarity to the day before. Soccer though was hard and it was hot outside. I skinned my knee but am otherwise unscathed.
In other news, you've probably heard all the buzz on the Emmy's. Sandra Oh wore a surprisingly lovely dress: It's Marchesa and I love the color.

I usually love was incredible. Leighton Meester but this is wrong. the straps, the size. *sigh* Try harder Leighton.
Heidi Klum was incredible. At first glance I'm puzzled by the proportions but then I see the wonderful beading and I love it. Kudos to you, Heidi, for wearing something unexpected and Black on a hot day while pregnant.
I've gotta go but check out Chloe Sevigny and Christina applegate.
Au revoir!!!!!

September 21, 2009

Happy....

Hope everyone had a lovely Rosh Hashana! I made a chocolate cake (gluten free of course) and went over Sunday to one of my aunts house.
Today is the last day of Summer! I can't believe all that Ice cream, those camp friends, those days of doing nothing for weeks at a time are over! Instead I get Ice skating, school, more holidays, Halloween. Hope your as excited for Halloween as I am (okay, not possible;))! I'm having a party and am in the midst of planning right now. Please don't laugh, I'm choosing between a Mafia wife, Faery and Barbie at the moment in terms of costume. Leave a comment telling which you prefer.
Happy Monday, Love you all!

Chanel

I am lovin Chanel's Les noir de Chanel makeup collection. The lipsticks in particular draw my eye. Comprised of six products only two are still in stock! Seriously, Check it, even if it's well out of your price range (It is certainly out of mine).

September 17, 2009

Sorry

School's been really busy, they're already loading on the homework. Because it's been very busy I've been trying to relax whenever I can. Here are my fave five ways to relax
  1. Listening to music. It's so soothing and all you need to do is sit back and litsen
  2. Reading. I am currently rereading but I love to read and it's how I unwind at night
  3. Sudoku! I am in love with this game and am currently winning the challenge at school!
  4. Reading others blogs! I love reading other peoples blogs! Leave me a link to yours and I'll devour it!
Bye everyone!
P.s. I made the soccer team at school!

September 14, 2009

1st day of school

It's been a nice day. School was iffy. It was fun to see my friends but homework. Today we tried out for teams and I tried out for soccer. It was hot and longer than gym in the past so I am beat. Plus I walked home. As I was walking home with my friend I saw a Mr. softies truck. I had wanted to walk my usual way so I could get Starbucks but she didn't want to so when I saw the truck I conceded. I didn't feel like Ice cream so I bought a milkshake. It was overpriced, full of calories and not that good so I wasn't feeling especially good when I got home. I come home, my new keys have trouble opening the lock and the dogs leash is broken. At least I got a new skirt in the mail.

September 13, 2009

Yay!!!!!

Today has been A a very happy day for me. I woke up late because of last night and relaxed.
Last night was very fun but very sugary. Cake, Dulce de leche, ice cream, chocolate fountain, candy bars for party favors. I'm going to get fat eating all this sugar:) The drinks were incredible too, I had A Shirley temple, virgin pina colada, and a virgin mojito(the best). Overall a very fun party.
Today I went to get ingredients for the gluten free cupcakes I made(more later) and found something that made my day. Betty Crocker now has Gluten free mixes!!!!!!! Totally incredibly happy making!
The cupcakes I made came out nice but when I put the second batch in I burned my finger. It's hard typing with mainly my left. Happy Sunday!( First day of school tomorrow!)

September 12, 2009

Top ten...

I just got back from the Bar Mitzvah party and I'm tired so I'll update about the party in the morning.
The party got me thinking about my fave party songs. Choosing songs is hard because they have to be easy to dance to, sing to and generally liked by the guests.
Since I've hosted a few parties and been to quite a few of them I will tell you my top ten Faves! You may disagree but these are just mine, enjoy!
10. Walk Away
9. Billie Jean
8. I Gotta Feeling
7.Love Sex Magic
6.Every time we touch
5.Right Round
4.Hot in Here
3.Don't Trust Me
2. Low
1.Cupid Shuffle
Enjoy!!!!

September 11, 2009

100th posts!!!

Can you believe it! !00 posts. i started in April and now, my posting is more regular and I write better!!!! In honor of 100 posts I'm putting up a badge on the side! Don't you love it!
Today I went to the first Bar Mitzvah of the year. The ceremony was long but interesting. The party is later and I'm looking forward to it.
Gotta go clean my room! Have a happy Saturday!
(check out my first post!)
I know many fashion bloggers (yes I consider myself one though I post a lot about ME too) are talking fashion week but frankly, I'm not feeling very spring-y. The weathers to cray. I may check out Style.com next week but till then, I'm good with reading mags.

September 10, 2009

Ahh

Today was orientation which meant 10 minute classes and minimum homework. It was filled with information and gossiping but most of all, new stuff. New people, teachers, lockers. It was fun to talk and I enjoyed it. After, we bought school supplies (staples is super packed) and I bought MarieClaire. It's great so far and the cover models are faves of mine.
Lately I've realized how many times I say like and umm. My friend said I sound like a valley girl and my mom is going crazy. It's a good thing I edit the blog.
Bye!

Happy School!

Hope you guys all had a good day at school! I have orientation tomorrow but I get homework so it's sorta like a normal day. I spent a good 2 hours choosing an outfit (two to choose from). I checked the weather after and found it says cold and rainy which sucks, It's barely fall!
I'm a gonna go get a pumpkin spice latte, Bye.

Today

I went to Duane Reade and bought 3 absolutely essential beauty tools. I was amazed at how easily I was able to discern what I actually needed. I bought a Maxfactor eye shadow set with pinky neutrals, a set of brushes to replace a few of my old ones, and clear gloss. After all that thought I put into makeup last night I found myself more knowledgeable when putting on makeup and it was easier to see the choices I had.
I've had Wicked stuck in my head for a bit and today I listened to the whole CD for the first time in a while. It's a great show and the music is fantastic. The costumes are also incredible but nothing compares to the catchy-ness of their songs.
Goodbye my pretties have a fun Tuesday.

I Baked!

I finally baked with gluten free flour! I might have forgotten to say but I'm going gluten free for two months starting the 23 of last month. It was hard at first but it's getting easier.
Most people start school tomorrow or the day after but I will be blissfully enjoying home. I have orientation Thursday and start school a week from today. An advantage of my school is how early we end and how late we start. I still have to get school supplies but after that I can ignore it. Some people view school as torture and some love it, I've never has strong feelings either way but it gets repetitive after a bit. My brother on the hand loathes school.
I've been watching a lot of YouTube makeup tutorials and after watching Blair aka Juicystar07's room tour I finally understood Rachel Zoe's term. While watching I repeatedly thought to myself, "I die". Seriously, I didn't get the term till then. After watching these makeup tutorials I find myself needing more makeup so I will be making a list of makeup to buy before school. Last year I had an hour to get ready and never had time to put any thought into my makeup so this year I will plan my outfit the night before so I will have time to plan. I'm proud of myself for making a school resolution I can keep because I usually make good ones that are relatively unachievable for me (another one is to add a piece of jewelery to each outfit). But that's still a week away.
Goodbye, more Beauty tutorials to watch.

Check out my new blog

Feathers, Fashion and Faeries
I decided to not take it easy yesterday and although the trip was incredibly fun (Sun, HUGE waves) being tossed around in the waves didn't help my sore throat and eventually brought back my headache. Today though I am wonderful. I organized a bit ( I have a lot more to do), bought the latest Lucky and relaxed. Overall a nice day.
I was cruising through other people's blogs and imagine my surprise when I come across this: a gorgeous dress screaming individuality and charm. I searched the blog and found out it came from Sika designs. After looking through the sight I have decided Sika designs is completely genius! Unfortunately they only sell in the UK so I can't buy. Here are some favorites.
Though it may be obvious I will share what makes this label so wonderful. When they use a fabric, the fabric is exciting and always in a luscious color. When they use color, they go all the way with a bright piece with lovely details often complimented by a lavish silhouette. Many of their designs are so ridiculously beautiful they make want to scream. More designs, I hear? But of course.
*sigh* I am off to scour ebay, Bon soir, mon amis.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly 3 weeks ago I arrived home from camp and realized I had 223 posts to read on bloglovin. It terrified me but I persevered and today I have no new blog posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The feeling of accomplishment overwhelms me!
In fall news I just found out Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte comes out September 1st! It was my favorite drink last winter and I am sooo excited.
In other Fall news some pieces have come to my attention that I just can't live without.
To start, I have been dying to buy a pair of over the knee boots but can't find ones inexpensive enough for me. These ones Are begging on their knees and despite the hefty 129.99 price tag I am drawn to them. I long to feel the luscious black suede against my skin. I want this Blondee bad.
Every women needs one, most have one and yet the perfect one evades me. You know what I'm talking about. I have a white one, a cropped one and still no nice boyfriend blazer. Forever21 make a nice one with a 3/4 sleeve and Charlotte Russe makes a really cool gray one. Alas I must wait.
I need skirts and tights but these are what I am dying to have.

Sorry I havn't posted in a bit.

I've been on and off sick this week. Today I seem to be better just a bit of a sore throat but I'm gonna take it easy so the fever doesn't come back.

I'm feeling properly pampered after my pedicure.

But I know some people feel differently. After I forced my mom to get her first manicure a few years back she's gotten only one other manicure. She feels slightly repulsed. She doesn't want people she doesn't know touching and massaging her hands. I on the other hand love it. Being pampered suits me. A lot of people like being pampered but I didn't realize how many people don't. I've been trying to perfect my manicure skills for a while but I much prefer having someone else do my nails. Right now my nails are evergreen and my toes are dark red. I love my nail polish and have a million shades. I'm looking to buy some Zoya nail polish because the colors are beautiful.
What do you guys think about nail polish? Do you like manicures or do you like doing your own nails?
Mwah!

I really love

Luella! The bright colors, millions of minis and prints all call out for my help. They're being deprived of my love and they're begging for me. The optimistic vibe of the designs draws me in.
Let me show you some faves: One of my favorite colors is purple, especially a deep purple plus the rosettes on the first outfit are gorgeous. The print and shoes on the second leave me breathless, but enough talking, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

School

I know many of you out there have school in a week. I'm lucky, I start on the fourteenth but despite that, the prospect of starting school is daunting. Of course, there are good things about the school year starting. Weighing out the pros and cons I get:

Pros
  1. Cooler weather( I like it more than unbearable heat).
  2. Seeing my friends.
  3. I love summer but after weeks of doing nothing I appreciate a little order.
  4. Parties.
Cons
  1. Waking up early.
  2. Homework
  3. Crazy teachers.
  4. shorter days
I'm sure there's more I'm not thinking of but It's still Summer and I'm letting my brain relax. Maybe I'm letting my spelling and grammar slip too much but that's for my English teacher to fix (I edit this blog a lot, trust me).

For now I'm going to be content with spending days in shorts outside or on the computer.
Happy Summer-y Wednesday!
