New stuff!
Nautical clothes have been everywhere, on the runways, streets, EVERYWHERE. And why shouldn't they? There is a nautical peice for everyone. A striped shirt, a sailor dress, brogues (my personal fave). This Victoria's Secret top has been in several magazines and frankly, I adore it. The gold shoulder detail is pretty but subtle. Horizontal stripes don't have to be widening, as long as you wear them with slimming bottoms, or break them up with a cardigan or vest. I would wear this with dark skinny jeans and delicate gold bangles.
Now this dress isn't nautical, but it is certainly everywhere. Beloved by celebrities and magazines everywhere, this Rebecca Taylor dress is super girly, but can easily be boho or downtown with the addition of brown boots and a fringe bag, or bronze gladiators and an oversize blazer.
Trust me with these, they look crazy but if you have confidence these can be totally normal. Plus, the multicolored sparkle will go with any color.

Sorry for the random hiatus :(
I just finished watching Easy Virtue, and DIED. The story was great but the costumes were amazing! Jessica Beil's tango dress especially.

Interesting Sights
Today Sephora opened up near me and I was ecstatic. I went with friends, who are always good for talking you out of buying yet another lip gloss, and bought some lovely products. Nothing like buying makeup to make you happy! On the way back I saw a lovely coat. It was a simple black coat except for one detail. A gold sequin panel on the side. It was a lovely detail but i wonder how she could wear it everyday in the winter. Is it easy to wear a distinct coat or a simple one. A simple one won't interfere with your outfit but an interesting one could brighten your day up considerably.

Stuff I like
Sorry I forgot Saturday but Stuff I like Sunday works also. Here goes.
Pale makeup colorsLavender Eyeshadow for example, looks good on many people and, depending on how much you layer or smudge it, can be sophisticated or fun.
Melon or peach nail polish can be a neutral or a super cool
one. It was a hot color last
year and though it isn't an "It"
color, it still rocks.
Light pink lips are most likely
going to be a passing trend
but I love them, even if they're
hard to pull off.
There are many ways to work this and so many ways to make this work. As you probably know I like versatility, if it can be worn at school and layered for a party, I love it.

New colors part 2
Let me just say, I am only covering the main colors, some others are very specific and really only "accent" colors ( colors better for accessories).
Blue is a calming color and has been one of my favorites for a while. Jeggings have the lovely neutral color of jeans that looks great on everyone but have the figure hugging lovelyness of leggings, je l'aime. There are more, but these are the colors I find special for this spring.

New colors
I'm sure most of you have heard of the new colors? Now, normally I abhor all those guidelines and rules, but when it's spring, and it feels like winter, they're actually very comforting, at least to me.
Well, these are the new colors, and how to incorporate them into your wardrobe. (caution: only for those wanting to look incredibly good, do not wear these colors if they do not look good on you)
This is a super fun clor and will brighten your mood instantly. The gray, military inspired sweater is super trendy, je l'aime. Pink and orange can be too much when paired next to each other but this soft pink works well. Also, if your cold add floral tights (like the ones above) and a white or ivory hat.
Actually, this is just a true yellow and it's easier to wear then one might think. The trick is in finding a yellow that suits you. You either have warm coloring or cool. For cool coloring go with a brighter, or truer yellow, for warm coloring try one that has a little orange or red in it. I like to let yellow take center stage but if you're still worried about it try yellow on accessories. (If it's too cold for shorts, pants will work as well as they're cropped so you can see the shoe)
Turquoise is a very easy color to pull off. If you're not comfortable with the cropped top you could out a tank underneath, or if it's cold, a navy cardigan would look great.
The next 3 colors will be in the next post, sorry to keep you waiting.
Happy April Fools day and Passover(Yes, it's technically over but still)

Sorry for being M.I.A.
I was just so busy enjoying SPRING BREAK!
Anyway, have I ever shared my love obsession of delicate flower rings? There are millions on etsy that make me drool. This one from Fleurbleue has lovely details around the band that echo the intricacy of the lovely flower. This one lacks the the intricacy on the band but the color is to die for. Somewhere between peach and pink, totally in this spring.(from Linkeldesign's shop)
This ring from lizhutnick has multiple flowers which in theory isn't that col. But how she did it, it has an interesting appearance.
There are many many more but these are the types I love most.
This is going to be a regular post, bringing things (Sorry English teachers allover the world) I love. Stuff I love Saturday anyone?

Dolls I did it!
I found a way to eliminate my frizz. I didn't sell my soul, and it's easy to do at home. Of course, You have to find time in your busy day, at least forty minutes.
First you wash your hair, but don't wash out the conditioner. What I did was put on a shower cap, get out of the shower and blow dry(rest, blow dry), but you could just stay in the shower with the cap on and let steam do all the work. After I washed out conditioner, I made two ponytails, one on top and one on bottom. I did this because the area that gets frizziest on me is the first layer of hair. Then I put shime serum on the bottom poyntail, and John Frieda frizz ease on the top and braided both separately. I let them dry for abou ten twenty minutes and then unbraided them, and slathered then in hairspray. If you want your hair to be very light , or to have looser curls, don't use hairspray, I did because without it my hair gets huge and makes my cheeks look big. Et voila! Minimal frizz (as it dried, the top layer of my hair became frizzy, but this could be because it's semi-straight).
On a totally unrelated not, I got three magazines and am having tons of fun! Goodbye!

Oscars part 2: Who I didn't like
You know I love Diane Kruger, but the Chanel didn't work. It was nothing in particular, maybe I was just expecting something better.
I was disappointed with Demi Moore, the color of her Atelier Versace wasn't right for her skin and the bodice wasn't very flattering, though I loved the ruffles.
I was disappointed With SJP, The back of her Chanel Haute Couture was interesting but I didn't like how little shape there was to this dress.
Tina Fey's Michael Kors did not impress me. It was her typical black, and though it looked okay on stage, on the red carpet it just wasn't right.
I hated Faith Hill's dress. It had all the right elements but the way they were put together...
Miley Cyrus was the only other one who I particularly didn't like.
Just request stars if you want my input, and feel free to disagree with me, I know some people who LOVED SJP's dress.

Oscars Part 1: Who I liked
I'm not going to assault you with my comments this time, it'll be short and to the point(mostly).First, who I liked.
Next, Kristen Stewart, I saw her smiling a lot which I loved, but I couldn't find a good picture of both her dress and smile. C'est La Vie. I love how feminine this Monique Lhuiller is while the color was pretty serious. Click on the image for a Better look at the color.
Zoe Saldana was even better than I expected. The Givenchy Haute Couture was unexpected and exciting. There were many elements and colors but they worked without being too much. Please click on the image because it is truly stunning.
Vera Farmiga a devotee of neutrals, wore the most beautiful Red or pink, I couldn't tell. The ruffling on her Marchesa was stunning and she might have been my favorite of the night.
The color of Gabourey Sidibe's dress was perfect. Marchesa was a great choice.
There were more, but these are some of my faves, check out Amanda Seyfried, Carey Mulligan and Sandra Bullock for more of my loves.

Dear Maybelline,
I've had a bumpy relationship with you. Your products always looked so good, but I was putt off by the prices. Then I tried you mascara, and it was love. I was faithful and always turned to you when I wanted to make an impact, but I heard bad reviews of you. Why should I buy you when Covergirl has better reviews, I thought. I thought wrong, sure Covergirl is nice, but why settle? You won me back with your Shinesensational glosses. They're slightly shimmery, have great color, and smell incredible. I have you in Cherry Kiss and Berry Bella, and I want more. Through skepticism and doubt, you kept me coming back, so Thank You and good job!
Sincerely Une belle fille

After a weekend of snow i am ready for spring. I want to wear thin cotton dresses with sandals and eat Mr. Softies and have to put on sunscreen. I can just imagine lying in the sun but it's still February. Waiting sucks :(
As many of you should know by now, pastels are the new "Thing". I love pastels and they are very easy to wear but as it is February, wearing a light pink dress with light blue flats isn't very appropriate. So let's keep it on our faces. Pastels aren't mean to overwhelm your face so a sheer-ish color with a hint of shimmer works best. you can then layer that or leave it simple. Most people look good in light green but light purple and blue also work nicely. Light eyeshadow is very versatile so you can pair it with any lip color. I prefer to keep the rest of my face simple with some gloss but you can be very daring. Red lips would complement shimmery pastel eyes if your very confident, or you could create a cat eye with the color with rosy cheeks.
This makeup for ever shadow has a little shimmer and is great for layering. It can look very intense and matte if you want or like a light pastel. the purple color has a little red in it so it would look good on many people.
I like to use Clinique and makeup forever for light eyes, but to each their own.
So try this trend out, it is easily made your own. Image from Sephora

Right now
Is crazy! I was about to blog about spring until this crazy snowstorm started. In these confusing times, I've put two outfits together to keep things interesting so you don't grow bored of your winter wardrobe.
Almost everyone has a cozy sweater, so just add a bright leggings and a beret. Neutrals are very in and this outfit is made of very comfortable fabrics. (Rick Owens cashmere Sweater-Net-a-porter.com; French connection leggings-Johnlewis.com; Margiela jacket-net-a-porter; Liberty brand hat-Liberty.co.uk; Carvin shoes-net-a-porter.com)
For those wanting to embrace the spring trend of nautical can do it easily. A nautical dress can be worn in February if you add jeggings and a trench. Hot pink boots keep this interesting.(the dress is out of stock from oli.co.uk; Burbury prorsum coat-Mytheresa.com; seven for all mankind jeggings-net-a-porter.com; Ami clubwear boots)
Key pieces for days like this? Leggings and scarves; they'll keep you warm but it easy to incorporate style into them.
Well, go rainproof you leather and suede and have fun!

Let the ideas flow so I don't destroy my house out of boredom or worse, change back into my PJ's!

Been popping cheerios like a toddler
First of all, Rest in peace artistic genius Alexander Mcqueen.
Now, I hope everyone heard We Are The World. I heard it two days ago and then remembered it today because it started playing while I got a long needed manicure (Essie-Jam n Jelly:The best color ever! Bright-but-not-neon pink with a purple shimmer.) One nail has chipped a little though :(
I've spent the majority of the last two hours going to the computer and running back to my room. Damn salmon! I usually love salmon but that smell was TERRIBLE!
I received Elle last night and I was sooo happy! Keira Knightly looks beautiful and the articles are great but what grabbed me was the accessories and makeup. The animal print wedges were to DIE for. Maybe I'm just loving animal print right now. I
want everything animal print now but i have to restrain myself; no prints at school :(
Goodbye, I have to return to reading blogs while popping cheerios like a toddler ;)

Who's excited?!!?
The Superbowl is tomorrow! I didn't even wathc it until last year but this time is different. I'm being pulled two ways and don't know which team to root for! There's the New Orleans Saints, with Reggie Bush, Kim Kardashian's Boyfriend. And of course, the Indianapolis Colts, With Hank Baskett, Kendra's Husband. I have a green football shirt which doesn't match either team so I think I might have to root for both teams. That would mean jumping and getting excited at each goal and being happy with whoever wins. Sounds nice but I find myself now leaning towards the Colts. It's going to be a hard choice but I'll just suffer through it. In the meantime, Who do you prefer? Kim or Kendra? Reggie or Hank? Saints or Colts?

Sorry about the random posting but i feel that it's going to be like this for a while more. I'm still trying to figure out how much work I need to do to get the grades I got last year. But I have so much to say!
First off, makeup. I know many people who are concerned with the chemicals in the products they wear. This is totally reasonable (who wants to buy something bad for you?) but good products that aren't filled with chemicals are hard to find. I have a certain standard for my products chemically but with mascara and lip gloss these go out the window. I want my lip gloss to be slightly tinted, and normally VERY shiny. This doesn't happen in the natural products I've found. Also with mascara, I want big, dark, glossy, separated and full lashes. Same problem as lip gloss but I'm almost there with my eyelashes. I have a natural lash builder that I layer under my mascara so I don't have to put tons on. This isn't perfect but I'm interested in you, Are you more interested in results, or the label in the back?
Secondly, since it's awards season, I want to talk about dresses. Though there hasn't been too many this year I'd like to speak about the strapless fishtail dress. I feel there is so much bias against this and I don't like it. Yes, a l0t of the time it's boring and bland but the people showing us these dresses have a bias before seeing the dress. I mean, everyone remembers the line of boring dresses last year but how many remember Anne Hathaway's Armani sequin dress? A lot I hope. So don't bash the strapless fishtail dress!
Lastly, and shortly, I made crepes last night and they're sooo fun! Everyone should make them because after the third time it's easy and fun and with a little powder sugar delicious!

Golden Globes
I have so much to say that I'll to do it in note form:
Drew Barrymore-Loved the color of her dress but I wasn't feeling her sparkly hip thing
Sandra Bullock-The bold purple stood out against all the neutrals, plus the sheer bits were lovely
Penelope Cruz-No opinion on her dress but her hair was great
Jennifer Garner-So lovely!
Halle Berry-Loved her dress the first time but pictures don't thrill me
Marion Cotillard-Her dress was incredible and one of the only green dresses in the red carpet
Fergie-Incredible dress of course, though a bit too tan for my taste
Lea Michele-Perfect in Oscar de la Renta
Maggie Gyllenhaal-The origami detailing and peachy-blush color were great
Anna Kendrick-I like her dress but I think it would've been a thousand time better without the ruffle
Amy Adams-I liked this but I feel like I've seen this before
Diane Kruger-Her makeup was great and on first look I liked her dress. Second glance I thought it was to bright, but now I like it again
Olivia Wilde-On TV I liked her makeup tons and thought her dress was okay. In pictures I think it's too much makeup and a great dress
Carey Mulligan-I didn't like her dress but I loved the headband
Emily Blunt-Perfection
Christina Aguilera-Looked great in her dress and rocked her short cut
January Jones-Lovely hair and makeup
Chloe Sevigny-I've gotten to the point where I love everything she wears.
I have many more thoughts but they'll have to wait until tomorrow until then mes amis!

Sorry for the somewhat sporadic posting. Lame excuse, but in my effort to procrastinate from schoolwork, I've been putting off everything. I went shopping Friday night with my friend which was fun. Though they're between seasons, they still have lovely things. My favorites were their florals and coats. I tried on many dress but only bought one black and green-purple-white floral dress. It's very cute and even though it's a very spring-y dress I'm looking forward to wearing it soon. I also bought a pair of red platform heels from payless. Last night I went to a party and watched Snl which was AMAZING! The MacGruebers were especially good, "Pass me the pen" "Which one?" "The African American one" Too Funny.
Spring Collections are coming out and I am very excited because spring is my favorite time of year. I am so over Winter by now. Romanticism is in for spring how much fun is that! Ruffles and layers of sheer are easily dressed, up down and made tough by a doc martins and a blazer.

School
It's hard to accept that school, restarts tomorrow. So I've planned and studied and now what? With only hours left what do I do? Buy the new issue of TeenVogue of course! Jessica Szohr is on the cover and I love her. I love how TeenVogue says it, (this is paraphrased of course) She's beautiful, but not bleached blonde and look at me beautiful. She's real with thick brown hair uncommon among starlets. Her character on Gossip Girl is edgy and different than the people she finds her old friend hanging out with. In real life she's relatively low-key which I love. Since this is the Valentines issue the stuff listed was so girly I melted. Like these Cynthia Rowling rings.
Of course the pink and purple and red were interrupted with refreshingly edgy items. These BC Footwear flats for example.
Bye till (Insert date here)!
