I've been watching some songs from musicals lately and its really fun. I'm an enthusiastic fan of musicals. Maybe part of it is that I love the costumes and love memorizing the songs;). I've seen many and love love love them. To name some of my favs, West Side Story, Wicked and Grease.

Today I went with D to his friends house so he could play with his friend and I could babysit his friends little sister. She's very cut and filled with energy. The party last night wasn't great but it was pretty fun. After that I went to see Land of the Lost with a friend (+their mom). It was great but all of that left me super sore this morning. So although babysitting was fun I ache Even more and all I can do right now is not clean or not do anything athletic;).

Tomorrow I start the baking process for MY BIRTHDAY PARTY. Wonder which 2 flavors cupcake I'll start with. Gotta do chocolate with my former babysitter, current friend ( who loves chocolate) so tomorrow I think I'll go with red velvet and vanilla.
Gotta find a better red velvet recipe then my current one though. Right now I'm listening to the songs I chose for my playlist and it's pretty fun but will take a while (I have 140 songs). The artists range from Shakira to the Beatles to Ashley Tisdale to Fall Out Boy :).

tons of stuff to talk about!

While thinking about summer I remembered a post about indoor swings on Belle Maison. The idea is sooo fun and I really want one. I know I wont get one so I was thinking about camp and if I could convince anyone to put up a swing in there. Probably not, I'll just have to live without one. Here is a cool one. I went to Laila rowe today and got this gorgeous headband!






I've been wanting feather headband for ages so when saw this one I grabbed it!
Yesterday I got an early B-day present! My mom got me some soap from fairybubble at etsy. I can't wait to try it out though my mom hates the smell (she hates all strongish smells).

hair

I must explain one of my biggest pet peeves because on a lot of blogs I follow curls have been coming up (how to recreate them , how much people want them etc). I was born with thick, frizzy and nearly uncontrollable curly hair. My hair will only take serums, no gel or hairspray works well. What happens is my hair loses its shape while remaining crunchy from the product. I can only use scrunchies (though after a while even those break). Plus, I've got enough volume for 20 people. I must admit that sometimes its nice, when I let my hair loose(which can only be done after washing it) it looks perfect. Than of course I have to put it back because its annoying me. Also, if I touch it when its wet, it goes crazy and frizzes. If I blow dry it after washing it, I look like a poodle. On my moms side of the family they have straight, flat hair (easy to style in my opinion). They hate that it wont hold volume and wish they had curls. *sigh* Guess you always want what you don't have. I also hate when magazines have how to give your hair more texture. As if I don't have enough! I've had my hair straightened many times and braided and given wavy texture (Mostly at a wonderful salon). I plan to show my camp friends what my hair looks like straight( long, flat and shiny) so after my beach party I'll straighten it again. After many trials I have an almost perfect hair routine. I trust my hair to Garnier Fructis and Herbal Essences, truly wonderful! Sorry to people who want curly hair, people like me probably annoy you. Promise next post will have tons of pics and happier comments!
(p.s. my hairs not that bad, just annoying when getting ready)

Finally!

Finally I'm well enough to remain mobile for more than 30 minutes without a major headache. I left the house for the first time in like 3 days this morning. It was only for cough drops because I've reached the strep like part of this illness. Literally I can barely speak. I had to borrow my bros money so when I saw the new people stylewatch I had to get the cough drops and my mom will bring me the magazine.

Sick

Today 30 people were sick. It's crazy thy didn't let us leave. throughout the day I got killer headaches and felt slightly woozy. I went to the nurse twice and didn't get out. When i came home the fever flared and I've been lying in my moms bead watching Transformers for like 3 hours. Its a good movie but after a while I couldn't watch. Fortunately I'm not allowed to go to school tomorrow and can only go Thursday if I have a 24 hour period fever-free. That all means my math test is postponed! Though I'm not sure its worth it feeling like this.

Shoppin

Went shoppin at the Gap for summer stuff. It was fun, at our first trip to the dressing room I tried on some bathing suits and tanks which were nice but I only got one bathing suits 'cuz I'm picky. After that my mom and her friend looked in the mens section for the boys (her husband, my moms boyfriend, and my brother) while I rounded up an amount of clothing almost bigger than me. I tried all of it on and ended up having to wait for two items to go on sale. Checking out was long and complicated but the people there were very nice. Right now I'm snuggled up in a new sweater listening to Britney and Lady GaGa.

I simply must tell you dolls about my wonderful day!

My trip to the Thimble islands was awesome! I had to wake up early:( and pack ( I definitely packed too much) and then we drove off(after stopping at Duane Reade and a deli for my breakfast smoothie). The drive was long and hectic but a few hours, sandwiches, and stops later we arrived at a shop my aunt works in called Taken for Granite( definitely check it out if you're in Connecticut). We bought a few things and then left for the boat tour around the Thimble islands. The islands were beautiful and I was salivating to buy one. Then we stopped at the store to buy more stuff and went to wait for my aunt to get off. After going to a playground (and dirtying my black suede fringe sandals in the process) we went to my aunts house for dinner. Unfortunately we only got ice cream and cookies because the boys( my bro and friend) got sick. We all slept in the car ride back('cept the driver an my ma, they talked) and my bro and sick ma are watching tv in the other room while I wait for my chicken to be done. Tomorrow involves tv and Monday, shopping(!) so I probably won't have much interesting stuff.

Ah well, Sleep tight !

Today I mad chocolate+butterscotch chip cookies and just made sandwiches for our outing to the Thimble Islands. Very fun though our oven mitts are dying. My moms says it will rain in Connecticut but I don't believe her. It's truly summer now! I've considered it Summer since Monday but the last few air-conditioned days prove it. Got a pedicure and gave myself a manicure so I'm feelin properly spoiled. Found this beautiful dress on modcloth for 114.99. *sigh* In my dreams. Been lovin polka dots and the silhouette of this dress is perfect.

SUMMER

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Summer is finally here. Just in time for my four day weekend! On Saturday I'm going to the Thimble islands and Monday I'm gettin a mani. My bday is sooo soon! actually there's like 10 days of school left! gotta play on polyvore.

I discovered an awesome site last night! It's called polyvore an it's like paper dolls but with real clothes. All of the items have prices and where to get it, sooo awesome! You make a collage of clothes and publish it for the world to see. Check it out at polyvore (registration is free). In other news tomorrow is the last day of softball so i get to bake or buy something wonder what I'll do. check out one of my sets here!

Normal blah

Today they surprised with the mile(its actually more than a mile cause they add each year). It was nice weather but sorta dumb because nobody brought a water bottle. I did my best 8:59! The normal 3 or 4 people felt sick in my class. I'm pretty satisfied with my post school outfit. I'm wearing a fuchsia sweater over a white tank with wide leg jeans and my new heels. Also a scarf worn the way I saw in a magazine. I saw scarves worn this way in different magazines and on the runway so I tried it out and loved it! All you do is fold (I call it triangulate;) a square scarf diagonally and tie to ends around your neck. Make sure it's drapey and not too high or it will look odd. My bro started a blog today! Magazines

Magazines have always had a special place in my bookshelf. My tastes have evolved but I have always followed a few religiously. Currently, I'm in love with Elle and PeopleStylewatch. I also follow Seventeen and TeenVogue but I don't love them the same way. Today however, I desperately needed a magazine and had already gotten my normals so I got Lucky. I've always loved the covers but was hesitant to buy them because of all the others. Now that I've read my first one though I think I'm hooked! It's informative and filled with lots of great sites and items on the glossy pages. I love how they styled Diane Kruger for the cover shoot! This weekend has been filled with treats. Today I bought a vest I've been meaning to buy for a year (no kidding). Yesterday my mom came home with some black fringe sandals and a lower, strappier version of my heels that were approved by my chiropractor. I'm crazy about them both and even went biking in my vest and sandals. I went biking in my dress and sandals which was dumb as I didn't know how cold it was. Almost like torture when it started drizzling. Last night we watched part of the documentary Religulous with Bill Maher. It's truly genius and we're finishing it tonight with salt and vinegar chips and Bertie bots every flavor beans. I'm not very religious though I do celebrate a variety of holidays so his logic makes sense to me.

Gift List

I got request from a friend to explain my gift list and didn't have the time to reply 'till now. My gift list started last Christmas because there were to many things I wanted that I knew I would forget to ask for. So I wrote them down and soon realized I would have to type it. It's organized by the categories music, beauty, clothes, accessories, movies, other and things to think about(the last is for me). After a while I began starring my list so I could see what I wanted more. After Christmas I deleted the things I got realized I was much happier with what I got when I could see the evidence. Then I began maintaining it throughout the months when i didn't get gifts so I could remember stuff I wanted. I also began coloring the sections. Now that my birthday is so close I've began updating more often. Now I'm thinking if I should add pictures to better explain what I mean. The items go from specific to vague (i.e. DKNY delicious night to ribbon). Gosh I'm so excited could squeal!

*Random-Lately I've been listening to Cowboy Take Me Away by the Dixie Chicks. I heard it last December and last night got around to Youtubing it. Normally I don't like country but every once in a while I'll find a song I like.

Gawd, I've had sooo many posts from bloglovin to read lately. lately I've been watching songs from legally Blonde. when I saw the musical, I loved and I still do. Not much else is going on. *sigh* Goodbye!

OMG, House

Just finished the season finale of House and GOD it is was amazing! The twists were crazy! If you haven't seen the season you must! I went to the orthodentist and unfortunately I have to wear rubber bands. I Hate rubber bands, they hurt and the schedule of changing them is ridiculous. I guess I'll have to bear through it, they'll be off soon. At least Summer is soon, ahhhhh. pus camp which I'm looking forward to( I'll explain camp another time).

Lots to say

Sry about the lack of posts. Got tons to tell.

First, a dress I ordered from eBay came and its just gorgeous! I'm in love with it but I'm going to save it for some bar/bat mitzvas. also on the matter of apparel, I finally bought a new pair of patent black flats (mine were falling apart). Truly versatile, easily casual or dressy, plus the shine is irresistible. second, I figured the total amount biked over the weekend was 14 miles! Unfortunately I have some bruises (I'm clumsy, anything that can bruise I have probably been bruised by). Thirdly, I bought a book of how of how to form good excuses. Maybe I'll share some. We had a field trip today to NBC studios. it was fun and we got to see where snl was filmed but later it felt like a very fun waste. In gym we started playing lacrosse games small enough where I had to play. Ugh you should not be near me while I twirl a lacrosse stick. In religion I have a paper where I have to waste so much paper but my teacher doesn't think its wasteful so he wont change it. It's like two sentences per page.

Hurray for the Weekend!!

I went biking today and the park is beautiful! I went the farthest I've ever gone. Unfortunately, I wiped out in my new white shorts right by a puddle. I should've known not to wear them, I almost always wipe out. On the way back I saw an old friend from my camp. I could tell it was her right away but when I finally got ahead so she could see my face I could tell she was unsure if she should say hi so I smiled and passed her.
Today's been sorta hectic since tomorrows mothers day. First of all I need to find the gift I bought for my ma and I need to finish her card and earlier I made her biscotti, one of the hardest things I've made. I guess I need to go finish mothers day prep. Goodbye and have fun on mothers day!

Bye Bye Birdie

At this moment I am watching bye bye birdie and it's wonderful. Ann Margaret is sensational and the costumes are lovely! I love the scene where Birdie first comes to sweet apple, the club scene with Hugo and Kim, and the scene where Rosie goes to Club Maude. They are such great dance numbers not to mention the songs are great. This made me think of another great movie; West Side Story. Both are terrific and if by some chance you haven't seen these wonderful films, see them now!!!!!

end of school resolutioins

You know how every January 1/December 31 you make resolution for the year and forget them by April?To prevent myself from doing this I shorten the time span. That means almost every end and beginning of something I tell myself some stuff to do, do more and do less(i.e. end of school, beginning of school, beginning of camp). So today I'll tell you my goals for frm now to the beginning of camp.

1. Modify clothes (i.e. hemming and cutting sleeves)
2. Bike more often
3. Buy more stuff(i know this sounds odd in the middle of an economic crisis but I am lacking some serious things)
4. Make/buy a bib necklace
   
5. Find places for my jewelery
6. Be more creative with my outfits

so close to summer break!

I'm so happy today! I just figured out I only have 24 more days of school!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh I cant wait to sunbathe by the pool/lake and search street fairs and go to camp. Unfortunately I lost my cropped blazer a few weeks ago and it still hasn't turned up:( My last hope is that it's at a friends house, after that I'll just have to wait and see if it turns up.

Don't the women at the met gala look lovely! Victoria Beckham and Anne Hathaway has long been a style icon for me and Kate Beckinsale often looks great. Today I stayed home because I felt sick. Along with it being a great physical and mental health day I finished a lot of things I needed to do.

Sry for the lack of posts, I've been pretty busy(lazy;)). In class we have to write a letter to The Prez. Ugh. I'm thinking of starting mine with "sorry if this lacks personality and spirit, my teacher edited it". At least I get to use pretty stationary. Happierly, I'm thinking of buying a book on how to make good excuses and lies with my brother. I read a chapter but forgot my wallet so I'll be back tomorrow with my brother.

It's a beautiful day!

Today i went out for lunch to Oyster Bar Restaurant in grand central station. It was wonderful! The oysters were amazing and the cheesecake was creamy and filling. After that we took the train but since the subways were messed up so we had to walk through central park. It's beautiful right now! All the flowers are blooming and birds are everywhere!

anne hathaway

Watched the first Princess Diaries again and forgot how painful the beginning was. I love Anne Hathaway and like the Princess Diaries though I don't like the song " catch a little star and put it in your pocket" but I can bear it. Julie Andrews is also genius. I'm watching this while listening to my brothers cartoon. Annoying, bearable. i also love her other movies.
